10Clouds was responsible for the UX/UI and front-end development of the platform. During initial calls, our designers provided extensive moodboards to the client to properly match the future design with client’s perspective and needs.

Then, we moved to the wireframe stage, and after they were accepted, we created the full design of the platform.The biggest challenge was to create a structure that would show the user different perspectives on the topic within the browser space. To alleviate the problem of cognitive bias, users have easy access to different perspectives on a given topic within one line on the screen.

The website is created in Vue.js with a focus on Responsive Web Design to provide a seamless user experience on every device.

Our challenge

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s very easy to become a victim of unconfirmed or specifically-designed fake news or simply misinformed sources. This creates chaos, uneducated opinions and conflicts among people.

The problem of course reaches far beyond COVID-19, and the platform created for University of Pennsylvania is a solution that can be later enhanced to be more universal and cover a vast array of different topics.

How we made it happen

The solution is a platform, where the user can search for perspectives on a given topic or question, e.g. Wearing masks.

Then, thanks to the machine learning model created by the team from University of Pennsylvania, the user is shown different perspectives on the topic, e.g. whether wearing masks prevents the spread of COVID-19 or not.

Since we’re currently at a stage where a lot is unknown about the virus, each perspective contains reliable articles which support a given view. This approach gives the user freedom to read about different perspectives and make up their own mind about it through confirmed articles.

Next, we cleared the data of HTML tags and added it to Pinecone using Llama-index, a library for importing data. Our AI tool can quickly and accurately provide users with the information they need, making it an invaluable asset for any organization.
